ABOUT ME

IMMAGINE SITO.jpg

My name is Francesco, I am an Italian architect who moved to Mexico for work and love.

Since I was little I have had the opportunity and the mindset to save money.

I never wanted to work for anyone other than me as the idea of having to work on fixed days and times did not coincide with what I wanted to do with my life.

I remember always saving up the money I received for Christmas and my birthday, especially the great contributions from my beloved grandparents and uncles.

Since I had the possibilities and the necessary strength, I started working doing small masonry and painting jobs at a family level that allowed me to set aside more and more savings.

I chose to study Architecture graduating in 2015 with honors following in the footsteps of my father and at the university I was lucky enough to meet my wife, Anahi, a Mexican girl with whom I share all my passions and desires.

However, the situation in Italy is currently not easy for a freelance architect, and not wanting to enter an architectural firm where you have to work more than 8 hours a day plus holidays to get a salary below the minimum due that I don't allowed me to have an economic independence that could allow me to live and pay a rent, I decided, in agreement with Anahi, to move with her to her land because in Mexico starting a construction business is certainly easier and they started like this, in 2017, our activities.

With the savings we had and with a little but great help from our families, we started by buying a small piece of land.

At the same time we transformed one of his properties in the center of Oaxaca, Mexico, into two small apartments doing most of the manual work, taking advantage of my little experience as a "handyman" to minimize expenses, apartments that we currently rent to tourists through AirBNB. They offer us secure monthly income.

Six months were quite intense and tiring even economically, but in less than a year we were able to cover all the expenses incurred for the restructuring.

From there it all started, and to date, in addition to practicing our activity as architects, we have a small Tailler of Carpentry and we are active in other sectors.

In 2020, with the arrival of the pandemic we were forced to "reinvent ourselves" due to the Lock-down, (our revenues were practically nil) so we started to allocate part of our assets to long-term investments, and to prepare to open a small essential oil business along with a small bakery that is still being completed.
